KYC verification — what you need and how long it takes
5 min read·May 20, 2026

KYC (Know Your Customer) is identity verification. It's optional for buyers but required for sellers to withdraw earnings. We use it to comply with B2B regulations and to stop chargeback fraud — both of which protect honest sellers from being lumped in with scammers.

What you'll need

  • A government-issued ID — passport, national ID card, or driver's license. It must be in date.
  • A selfie holding the same ID next to your face — clearly visible, no filters, no sunglasses.
  • Your real legal name, matching exactly what's on the document.
  • Decent lighting. Daylight is free; harsh ceiling light is the #1 reason for rejection.
  1. 1

Open Profile → Settings → Security → KYC

Click Start verification. You'll see a checklist and a camera prompt. You can use any device — phone cameras are fine.

  2. 2

    Upload your document

Take the photo in daylight on a dark surface (table is fine). All four corners of the document must be visible. No glare across the photo or hologram.

  3. 3

    Take the selfie

Hold the ID next to your face, both clearly visible. Remove glasses, hats, and AirPods. Plain background works best.

  4. 4

    Wait for review

Most KYC reviews are processed within 24 hours on weekdays. Heavy queues can extend to 48–72h around weekends and holidays. You'll get a notification with the decision.

Top 5 rejection reasons
1) Document expired. 2) Selfie is too blurry. 3) Name on form doesn't match the ID. 4) Document edges cropped. 5) Heavy filter/beauty mode on the camera app. Re-submissions are free but slow you down — get it right first time.
What we store (and don't)
We store the document image, the selfie, and the extracted name + DOB + country, encrypted at rest. We don't store your card numbers, your home address, or any biometric template after the review is finished.
